I get this question a lot. Why the heck are you adjusting things in the node before the LUT? Doesn't it make sense to put it on first and then tweak it?
Here's my thoughts on that:
It all comes down to how you control what the LUT is doing. Do you want the LUT to be the final say in the colors of the image, or do you want to change what the LUT looks like? Either might be the best thing to do at the time, but it's up to you!
